Happy New Year, and welcome to the first Saab-i of 2004. This promises to be an exciting year for us, with the forthcoming launch of the Saab 9-2X in the USA and Canada and the ongoing development of the Saab 9-7X and 9-3 Sport-Hatch models.
In this edition, we have a preview of the Saab 9-2X, as well as some amazing footage of the Saab/Salomon 'Soul Flyers' - an incredible team of parachutists, who seek to push the boundaries of the possible. It has to be seen to be believed!

After the successful launch of the Saab 9-3 Convertible, the Saab 9-2X is hot on its heels. Set for launch in the USA and Canada only, in July this year, this dynamic sports compact is the latest in a line of exciting new Saab models. |

As Saab's President and CEO, Peter Augustsson is naturally very upbeat about the new model. "The Saab 9-2X is the ideal addition to our line-up," he commented, "Like the recently-launched Saab 9-3 models, it is extremely dynamic and is a car that you want to drive. Additionally, its price will attract some new, young, enthusiastic customers to Saab."
The purposeful stance and clean, sporty lines of the Saab 9-2X define its role as a fun yet functional car that delivers immense driving appeal. Saab Head of Design design Michael Mauer is rightly proud of the bold design. "The Saab 9-2X needs to look as aggressive as its driving capabilities," says Mauer. "Additionally, even though it is a functional 5-door vehicle, it shouldn't look like a traditional wagon. Therefore, we spent a great deal of time making sure it had a strong face and sleek Scandinavian lines." |
