from a Saab diesel, plus a whole lot more. And for those of you who prefer the
Saab 9-5, we’ve got an innovative new Navigation system available for the 2005
model year cars.

It’s rare enough that a diesel engine comes along that
makes the critics sit up and take notice. But for Saab drivers, it should come
as no surprise that we are launching two remarkable new additions to the
acclaimed Saab 9-3 range – the 1.9 TiD 120 hp and 150 hp diesel engines.
|
 |
|
|
These are the powerful diesels that you would expect from Saab:
the common-rail direct-injection engines feature variable turbocharging and fuel
optimisation, giving drivers outstanding acceleration as well as a big
improvement in engine responsiveness at low and high revs alike. When coupled to
the six-speed manual or automatic transmission and the sports chassis, you have
a car that begs to be taken out on the open road.
Naturally, you will enjoy the kind of reliability that Saab has become
famous for, which means that the Saab 1.9 TiD only requires a service once every
30,000 km. But this is just one factor that contributes to the competitively low
overall cost of ownership. Other factors include the fuel economy statistics,
with the 120 bhp engine delivering 5.8 L/100 km and the 150 bhp version 5.9
L/100km. In addition, both engines are equipped with our revolutionary new
electronically controlled particle filter, which reduces emissions levels to
Euro IV standards. This in turn will reduce vehicle taxes in many countries.
These two new engines offer drivers the best of both
worlds: the lightning-quick acceleration that you find in every Saab, combined
with the fuel economy, tax rating and environmental benefits that would
initially encourage you to choose a Saab diesel.

Enjoy you drive.

Saab 9-5 drivers will be able to spend less time worrying about
where they’re going and more time enjoying the finer points of their car. This
is due to an innovative new DVD-based navigation system, available as an
accessory on all 2005 model year Saab 9-5 cars. The system, available in Europe,
the US and Canada, employs state-of-the-art technology to keep you on
track.
|
 |
|
The key thinking behind
its design is user-friendliness: the large 6.5” widescreen colour dual display
can show two different maps simultaneously and features touch-screen
capabilities, while the system can also be operated remotely from the steering
wheel controls. And when you hit the road, journey planning could not be
simpler. The DVD-based maps and 3D bird’s eye view allow you to plan and follow
your route with the greatest of ease.
In Europe, the system can employ
dynamic navigation using TMC data, and divert and re-plan your route to avoid
obstacles such as closed roads or accidents. In addition, the Points of Interest
function will indicate the closest fuel stations or provide useful information
such as local restaurants and hotels, and unlike many navigation systems, the
whole of Europe is available on one disk.
So if you’re thinking of
purchasing a 2005 model year Saab 9-5, ask your nearest Saab dealer for more
information, and make taking a wrong turn a thing of the past.

Following on from its recent design award and the
first ever five star EuroNCAP crash safety rating for a soft-top car, the Saab
9-3 Convertible has picked up another significant award. It has been declared
the winner of the Convertible/Roadster category in this year's UK Car Security
Awards sponsored by the Association of British Insurers. This win comes less
than a year after the Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan topped the anti-theft
performance list in What Car? magazine's annual security test.

It’s no coincidence that Saabs drive as well as they look.
We’ve spent years perfecting the aerodynamic characteristics of each model, to
give drivers the best performance possible. The Saab body kit accessories are
designed to further improve the performance and handling of your Saab by
reducing lift forces on the car when driving at speed, while at the same time
giving it a sportier, more dynamic look. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
The Accessory
body kit* features a front spoiler and skirts, which give the car a broader,
lower and more potent stance, while the spoiler increases cooling for the
engine, brakes and other key components. When fitting this kit, we would also
recommend a sports exhaust system, a rear spoiler and 17” light alloy wheels,
which would transform your Saab into car that looks, and more importantly drives
like a true sports performance car.
The Aero body kit* also includes a
new front bumper with integrated fog lights, side skirts and a rear bumper, to
give your Saab the same exterior profile as the new Aero models. For more
information on how you can personalise your Saab, please contact your local Saab
dealer. |

|
| *Aero body kit available for 9-3 Sport Sedan, 9-3
Convertible, 9-5 Sedan, 9-5 Wagon. Please note that with the 9-3 convertible the
Aero body kit must be complemented by a rear spoiler. Accessory body kit only
available for 9-3 Sport Sedan. | | |
