An expession of sports style

Hi

Welcome to Saab-i, and to the launch of the new Saab 9-5. This exciting new 9-5 Sedan and SportCombi range has a stylish new interior and exterior design, an even more powerful Aero engine and a new turbo-diesel model. Discover more about the new 9-5 in the article below.

In this issue you’ll also find the second part of our history of Saab through the ages. Last issue we looked at our roots in aviation and our early prototypes – this time we’ll cover some of the Saabs of the 1950’s - I think you’ll agree it makes fascinating reading.

Best regards,

Knut Simonsson,
Executive Director,
Global Brand and Sales Operations

The new Saab 9-5 range features a bold, sleek design with a front profile inspired by the 9-X concept car, and a distinct, purposeful stance. Step inside and settle into the stylish interior, where we’ve created a sportier, modern ambience using all-black door cappings, front fascia and carpeting. This is balanced by the contrasting door inserts and trim, the parchment roof trim and the smart new instrument dials and sports steering wheel.

The new 150 bhp TiD engine combines impressive performance with economy, delivering a massive 320 Nm of torque whist remaining Euro 4 compliant. The already powerful Aero engine has been upgraded with additional horsepower to deliver an even more responsive driving experience. Its high-output turbocharger offers a mighty 260 bhp and a massive 350 Nm of torque. Manual transmission models also feature an overboost function that pumps out no less than 370 Nm for 20 seconds, enabling lightning-fast overtaking on demand.

When is a Saab not a Saab? When it’s fitted with counterfeit spare parts.
Using non-genuine spare parts not only affects how the car functions, but it can also cause more serious damage to other parts of the car. For example, a faulty or sub-standard air filter would fail to protect your engine’s cylinders, cylinder walls, pistons and piston rings — which could in turn cause more serious, permanent damage.

Saab Genuine Parts are designed specifically to fit your Saab, and are thoroughly tested to ensure maximum performance, year after year. Every part comes with a full two-year warranty, so you can drive with confidence. For more information on Saab Genuine Parts, please contact your nearest Saab dealer.

With winter fast approaching, it’s time think about accessories for the cold months ahead. The Saab Roof Box is constructed from sturdy glass fibre-reinforced polyester, has a low profile aerodynamic design for improved fuel economy, and holds up to 460 litres of cargo. And since it comes fitted with dual gas-filled struts and central locking, it couldn’t be simpler to access, load and secure your belongings.

You may prefer the Saab Roof Rack, which can be modified with a range of specialist holders for skis, bikes, boards and much more. It has a strong aluminium construction and is fully crash, corrosion and UV tested for years of outdoor service, while the quick release fasteners make it easy to fit and modify.

For the passenger compartment, you could choose a set of rubber or all-season rubber/textile floor mats, while the rear cargo mat shields the carpeting from dirt, water and wear, and prevents smaller items from sliding around. All Saab mats are simple to fit, remove and clean. Please ask your nearest Saab dealer or visit Saab Accessories online for more details.

The Saab Sport Collection is a range of clothing designed and developed to appeal to Saab enthusiasts, meeting their high expectations for design, quality and performance. For example, the Saab Sport Vest is a stylish, functional down-filled gilet that can be zipped into the Saab Sport Jacket (not shown). It has a useful inner pocket with an opening for mobile phone or Mp3 headphones, and special eyelets in the collar to thread the cable through.

The Saab Sport Hood has a unique design, where the black exterior and blue inside are laminated together around a protective polyurethane lining, and the sporty look is complemented by reflective details around the pockets and on the zip pulls. Both items are available in unisex sizes. Check out the entire Saab Expressions collection by following the link below.
