Welcome to Saab-i. In this issue we’ve got exciting details of a radical new Saab Concept car – the Saab Aero X – which is currently being displayed at the Geneva Motor Show. Furthermore, you’ll find news of an exciting innovation award for Saab BioPower.

We’ll also continue our look at Saabs through the ages, which this month takes us to the 1980s. And with an eye on the summer ahead, why not take a trip to the Saab Museum, where you can experience the history of Saab face to face? Discover more about it in the article below.

As a subscriber to Saab-i, we thought that you should be one of the first to get a close-up view of our extremely progressive and distinctive new concept car — the Saab Aero X. With its stunning good looks, 400 horsepower engine and one of the most remarkable canopy/door openings ever seen, it’s sure to become one ofthe stars of the Geneva Motor Show.
This striking two-seater features the very pinnacle of Saab performance innovation in the shape of a BioPower Twin-Turbo V6 engine, whist the influence of our aircraft heritage is felt throughout; from the huge, 23” turbine-inspired wheels to the front air intakes and rear ‘fuselage’ design. To celebrate the launch of the Saab Aero X concept car, we’ve created a selection of top quality merchandise to suit all the family. The aircraft-inspired Aero X Wristwatch is water resistant to 10 ATM, and features a carbon fibre dial, a tough rubber wristband and an engraved Saab logo. Or maybe you’d prefer a stylish low-profile Aero X cap? This comfy, fully adjustable stonewashed cotton twill cap has a pre-curved bill and sports a silver 3D Aero X logo.

We are proud to announce that Saab BioPower has been named the winner of FuturAuto, an annual award given by the Professional Journalists of the Automobile Press in Belgium. If you’re looking for ideas for the summer holidays, a visit to the Saab museum is an experience you and your family will never forget. Using our 9-language Audio Wands, you can travel back in time and see first hand what makes Saab and its cars such a unique part of the automobile world, and meet the cars, the people and the technological innovations that have formed our fascinating heritage. The museum was rebuilt in 2005, and now lets you take a step into the future by exploring the concept cars that could form the vehicles of the next generation. The Saab Museum is located in the “Saab city” of Trollhättan, Sweden, and is normally open every day between 11.00-16.00.
